30 weeks and counting

Last week was a very busy week, in fact I think it was so busy that Baby Girl was pretty tired herself and let her mommy actually get some sleep over the weekend!
We went to the doctor on Wednesday and all checked out well, I had been tested for gestational diabetes and anemia and apparently my results came back so good that the doctor was impressed and continued to praise me for taking such good care of my body. Little does she know that I eat an ice cream cone practically every night! I also must have been fighting a bit of a stomach bug last week so I really did not do too much athletically until the weekend began. But man Tim and I definitely had a busy weekend.
Friday night in to Saturday morning we expereinced some really bad weather. The tornado sirens went off several times so Tim, Riley and I went downstairs to wait out the storm. Needless to say I had very little sleep that night.  Fortunately we had no damage to our house but we did see several really big trees and limbs knocked down near our house.
Tim's boss turned 50 and she had a big dinner party at the St. Regis Hotel in Buckhead on Saturday. It was a beautiful venue and once the baby comes I told Tim we may have to plan a special trip to stay there and find a baby sitter (any takers???). I completely forgot to take pictures of Tim and I dressed up so will have to get those on Easter!
I also took my first water aerobics class Saturday morning and got quite a workout. Since my doc is not wanting me to play tennis anymore she suggested that I try water aerobics and swimming instead. I really enjoyed the class and think I am going back next weekend too!
On Sunday Tim and I went to the Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park. It was a gorgeous day outside and we managed to find a piece of artwork that we will display somewhere in our house. We walked our legs off so when we got home Sunday evening I collapsed and took a 2 hour nap. All in all we had a great weekend.
Things are really starting to get busy at the Harcourt's, it is hard to believe Baby Girl will be here in less than 10 weeks. Next weekend is Easter and I will be sure to post pictures of the updated belly and the following weekend is my baby shower! I have some of the best girlfirends a girl could ask for!
One final thing, my brother leaves for Japan on Saturday, April 23rd, for a 2 month work assignment. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He will be back in the States in the beginning of July just in time to see his new niece!
Until next time....

29 weeks and trip to see my family!

Ok I know I am really terrible at updating this thing but I am going to give it my all and get this thing updated a bit more often.
So I have officially entered my 3rd trimester, I can hardly believe it myself. I went to the doctor at 28 weeks and she said I was the model of a perfect pregnancy. I told her I was still active and playing tennis and she had quite an opinion about that! Basically I can only play recreational tennis up to roughly 32 weeks and she doesn't want me playing any more competitive tennis right now. The news kind of bummed me out but after my last 3 1/2 hour match she is probably right. I have made it to a few lessons but I am definitely slowing down and certainly more sore the next morning.
She also listened to the heartbeat and said to me "wow you have a very active little girl!" I told her I know, baby girl has certainly been moving around the minute I sit down to rest! Tim talks to her routinely and even has attempted to ask her to settle down, but that has not always been successful! Guess we have a rising athlete on our hands.
As I was leaving the doctor's office she said we will see you in 2 weeks, I must have looked crazy when I said really I have to come every 2 weeks and that is when she reminded me I am in my 3rd trimester, holy moly time is flying!
So last Wed/Thursday I was 29 weeks and took a quick flight home on Friday to see my family as well as to celebrate my mother's birthday. I probably should not tell you how old she is but she reached a big milestone and I think she looks fantastic! I was able to spend her birthday with her, attend one of my aunt's wedding, visit with my grandfather, visit with my grandmother, and finally see one of my childhood best friends. My grandmother told me to do everything I needed to do to have a healthy baby and I promised her I would! It was a great weekend and super busy but I am so glad I was able to take the trip before life gets really hectic. I also think Tim really enjoyed his alone time as he biked close to 40 miles one day, I even think Riley enjoyed hanging out with Tim, but I sure did miss my boys!
Here are some pictures from the wedding and one belly shot of me at 29 weeks and 2 days. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures with my grandmother and friend and am a bit upset with myself but I will definitely remember the trip!

Well I go for my 30 week appointment tomorrow (Wednesday) and we have a busy month ahead of us but I will definitely keep you all posted! Look for more posts in the very near future!
